Mexico City artist Ana Tuirán encompasses a full spectrum of emotions in her songs, filled with catchy folk-pop melodies, she brings Mexico into her lyrics by mixing community and culture.

Tuirán graduated from McNally Smith College of Music in Composition & Songwriting in 2016. After completing her studies she released a live EP - Live at The Hideaway. Recorded at the Hideaway Studios in North East Minneapolis and became well-respected and embraced in the larger Twin Cities scene.

As well as becoming well-respected in the local music scene her EP received great reviews from Mexican and US press “Tears are likely as defiant heart swells” - Minneapolis City Pages. The EP Included a string quartet, a horn section and a rhythm section, with a total of 14 musicians involved in the performance.

Tuirán has been an opening act for several Minnesotan and Mexican acts as well as being the main act in venues like The Icehouse, The Cedar Cultural Center, Amsterdam Bar & Hall, Centro Cultural André Bretón, Kava Shteeble, and more. 

The Current (MPR) says Ana "moved to the Twin Cities to attend McNally Smith College of Music and developed her own style of sophisticated orchestral folk-pop in the process." 

In 2017, Ana moved to New York City where she would participate in projects with artists like Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Banda Magda and more.

Tuirán is now based in Mexico City.
